The No Sale button is pressed to open the till drawer, when there is no sale of goods. Function may be restricted to Manager or Administrator
- Press No Sale
- A box on the screen appears on the screen, type in the reason you require the till drawer to open.
- The till drawer now opens
Typing in the reason you have opened the till drawer provides detail for future reference and audit purposes
Acceptable reasons for a No Sale (depending on your organisations Policy of course)–
Quite often you need to give the person buying things for the shop the money in advance, so that they can take this money to the shop (rather than try use their own money and then claim it back later) See next section – Petty Cash for more details.
E.g. money taken out to go shopping for cleaning products or
“Till Sweep” when you are emptying the till of cash during the day due to security reasons, to be stored safely
