Using Splashtop/Remote Access/Remote Control for tills/devices

Tengo customers can optionally purchase licences to connect to their tills or other computers running our software, to ‘remote-control’ them from any location. This is useful for remote configuration or for managers working remotely to assist their team with any non-system issues/questions. The fee for this is £2 per month per device, if you would like to order licences for this, please contact us from the homepage choosing the quotation/ordering option.

If you have signed up for remote access to your till(s) or other device(s), you will need to install the Splashtop app on any devices you wish to connect from. You do not need to install anything on the tills or devices you are connecting to, they will already have Splashtop installed – you are effectively connecting to them the same way we do when we provide remote assistance.

To get the app, visit Splashtop’s website and follow the instructions here. Once you’ve installed it and logged in, you’ll see a listing of your devices. Online devices are shown in blue, offline they are grey. To connect to an online device in the Windows/MacOS version, clcik on the relevant computer, and click the symbol which represent a computer and mouse cursor shown below.

On the IPhone/Android mobile versions, a single tap on the device name will initiate a connection. Once connected, you can control the computer and anything running on it as if you were in front of it.

Different computers, tablets, phones and devices work slightly differently, there is help embedded within the app as prompts, and you can visit the relevant suport pages from Splashtop themselves by using the ‘contact’ and ‘support’ options within their apps.
