GDPR

The EU general data protection regulation (GDPR) governs how the personal data of individuals in the EU may be processed and transferred. What this means in practice is that you need to gain permission from anyone you’re storing information about, should you wish to contact them You need to ask them what methods they’re happy for you to contact them about, and what subjects. For example, someone may say, ‘I am happy to hear from you by email, about fundraising’.

GDPR settings can be logged in tengoPOS at the point of sale, through tengoCloud, and through your own tengo website or TripGiving if you use either of those services provided by us.

To configure the GDPR options, in tengoCloud, GDPR is a special attribute group that all clients have. Go to CRM > Attribute groups, select the GDPR one as shown below, and click the edit icon (circled in green below:

Edit or add the entry as shown below:

And enter the subjects (what you want to contact people about) as shown below, and click save & close:

This will then show GDPR preferences everyewhere that you interact with a constituent, and enable you to run off marketing lists based on these preferences on the constituents listing page on tengoCloud.
